Young Folks Doing Old Stuff Conference

The 1st Young Folks Doing Old Stuff Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Bishop Booth Conference Center in Burlington, Vermont!

The conference is a partnership between Young Tradition Vermont, the Vermont Folklife Center, and the Country Dance and Song Society and will feature presentations and workshops by educators and scholars from Québec and throughout New England, focusing on using traditional music and dance in educational settings.  

Traditions presented may include, North American and English social dances (i.e. contra, square and country dances), family dances, singing and "play- party" games, songs for children, and those from other cultures e.g. African dance and song and Tibetan dance.

Sessions will be suitable for those working with children across the age range, with some sessions focusing specifically on early childhood, some on elementary aged children, and others on teens.
