PARTNERS & RESOURCES
Vermont Folklife Center is the sponsor and lead partner for the Discovering Community Institute. VFC was founded in 1984, is dedicated to documenting, preserving and presenting the folklife and cultural traditions of Vermont and the surrounding region. Through ongoing field research, a multimedia archive and an apprenticeship program, VFC documents and conserves cultural heritage which could easily be lost; through exhibits, media, publication and educational projects. Within VFC's mission the goal for VFC educational programming is to build bridges of understanding by promoting cultural dialogue.
