At a local open house, Maureen Dobart's 3rd graders show off their work to date on their semester-long neighborhood study project.

So far they've gathered and organized historical resources such as maps and historic photographs. They've also completed a series of very neat exercises from their neighborhood study books (such as spending an afternoon noting what kinds of activity they can observe in their neighborhood), and now they're starting to interview in earnest...
